Recently, I was contacted by a PR company representing Jamba’s new line of all natural make at home versions of their smoothies.  I have been a big fan of Jamba for a while.  Also, I am a smoothie lover.  I love to have a smoothie to start my day off.  So of course I was totally on board when they asked me if they could send some samples for me to try.  They have 3 varieties for Jamba Smoothies at Home – Razzmatazz®, Mango-a-go-go® or Strawberries Wild®.

Jamba All Natural Smoothies contain real fruit, non-fat yogurt, and an antioxidant boost with 100% of your Daily Value of Vitamin C.

Each serving is fat-free, provides one full serving of fruit, and contains 0mg cholesterol and 120 calories or less when prepared as directed. Each package makes two, eight-ounce servings and retail for retail price of $2.99 to $3.29.  The only thing you need to add to the product to make them is apple juice, which I always have laying around my house.  The packages also each have a $1 coupon off a smoothies at the Jamba retail locations.   They’ve at home versions have already begun to arrive at a number of  grocery retailers such as Albertson’s, Meijer, Costco, etc.; and Walmart will begin carrying them nationwide this month.

I have tried similar products before and have not been impressed.

I did however, love the Jamba Smoothies at home.  My favorite was the Mango-a-go-go.  It tastes amazing.  My second favorite was the Strawberry Wild.  I decided to try to orange juice in place of the apple juice, delicious!  I have included the recipe below for that.  On both of these flavors of smoothies, I did need to add more juice that listed on the package to get them to mix in my blender.  The package calls for 8 oz. of apple juice and I probably used closer to 12 oz. of juice.

The last version  I made was the Razzmatazz and it was my least favorite.  I also made it with the larger amount of juice figuring it was just like the other to favors.  This however, was a runnier version and was too runny with the larger amount of juice.  Next time I will try the one with the recommended 8 oz of juice listed on the package for the Razzmatazz flavor.
I loved the smoothies and can’t wait to find them in a store near me.  Jamba has also been nice enough to give me some coupons for free smoothies along with a $1 off coupons.  I will be giving away coupons for free smoothie packages along with a $1 off coupons to to 8 lucky readers.  All you have to do to enter is leave a comment as to which smoothie flavor you would want to try.  You have until Sunday June 27 at 10 pm (MST) to enter.  Winner will be selected using random.org and will be notified by email.

  2. I have only found the Razzmatazz, its pretty good. Knowing you liked it the least makes me want to find the other flavors!

  3. I love the Mango-a-go-go. Reminds me of my travels to the Carribean. Can’t get back there yet, but these smoothies make me so HAPPY!!!!!!

  4. I love the Strawberries Wild from Costco. You don’t have to add extra juice if you have a marginal blender. I also do, and I only add 1/4 of the bag at first then blend it smooth. I add the other 3/4 of the bag, one quarter at a time and my blender has no problem. The last blend takes a bit longer, than the first three, but it still works fine with my $19.99 cheapo blender.
I also use only 1/2 cup apple juice with 1/2 cup water. It’s a little less sweet, but only has 180 calories for a 16oz portion!
The mango sounds yummy. I wish they had that at Costco.

  5. I would love to try the Strawberries Wild – love it from Jamba. But I love anything with raspberries, so I would also want to try Razzmatazz. My husband makes his own version of Jamba shakes, but I would love the convenience of these.
