Did you know that October is also known as Crocktober? To celebrate this crocktastic month, I have teamed up with Crock-Pot® Slow Cookers for a giveaway for a luck RMK reader! You know I love my Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker and I probably use one at least once a week when preparing dinner for my family.

Crock-Pot® Slow Cookers 6 qt. Slow Cooker with Stovetop-Safe Cooking Pot

So I get to give away this awesome Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker 6 qt. Slow Cooker with Stovetop-Safe Cooking Pot. I have one and love it! It is perfect for those recipes that need some cooking done ahead of time before place the ingredients in the pot.  I use it for this tasty slow cooked pork roast and gravy. The roast needs to be seasoned and browned before placing it in the pot. However, with this Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker, you can just place the insert on the stove top and brown the roast in the insert itself. There is no need to an extra dirty dish!

It is also perfect for when I make my taco soup. I can just place the insert on my stove top and brown my ground beef. Then I just drain off the beef and add my remaining ingredients. Now I am already to let the Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker do the rest of the work.

This Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker also has some other features that I love. The insert is the easiest insert to clean! It has a ceramic coating on it that gives it a great non-stick surface. I’m telling you, clean up is a breeze. Just rinse, wipe, and dry. No need for soaking or scrubbing.

It also has an awesome timer. You just select the temperature to cook at. Then set the time for the exact amount of time that you need it to cook. Once it cooks the specified amount of time, it will automatically switch to warm. Love it!

  1. I love Crockpots and it would be awesome to have one that I could use on the stovetop first to brown the meat

  2. I would make your recipe for 3 Envelope Steak and Gravy. That sounds so delicious and perfect for a cold day.

  3. Taco meat. 1) It’s unbelievably easy; just throw some frozen chicken breasts, salsa and taco seasoning into a slow cooker and let it do all the work! 2) Everyone in my family will eat it and 3) I can make an extra-big batch with no more effort required than if I were just making enough for 1 dinner and then recycle the leftovers in burritos, enchiladas or nachos.

  4. I would make a pot roast that I actually browned the meat first. Usually I skip that step because I don’t want to dirty a frying pan, but if I can brown it in the crock pot insert – how easy would that be?

  5. I would love to be able to brown meat in the crockpot and then keep cooking. First thing I would make is my paremsan and herb coated pork loin.

  6. I love my crock pot. One of my family favorites to make in the crock pot is the roast and au jus for French Dip Sandwiches. I can always use another one! I love to come over to RMK for dinner inspirations!

  7. I love to make Cafe Rio pork. My new favorite thing is to do baked potatoes – it saves my kitchen in the summer!

  8. I’m pretty excited about the ability to use it on the stovetop, so I would start with a roast and braise it first.

  9. Since it is cold here in Michigan I would start with a big batch of chili. I love to eat chili on these cold wet days.

  10. I am so excited about using it to brown on the stove! I definitely want to try your slow cooked pork roast and gravy recipe first!

  11. I can’t get enough soups this time of the year so that definitely is what I would cook first! This is a fantastic giveaway…thank you!

  12. I love all sorts of soups this time of the year so I would definitely do a fall one first! This is such a fabulous giveaway..thank you : )

  13. My family loves a roast with potatoes and gravy. They like the roast to be so tender it falls apart! Need a digital slow cooker real bad–this one is so nice!!!

  14. My crockpot just broke, so I could definitely use this! It’s soup season, so I’m thinking a knock-off Panera Bread broccoli cheese soup? Roasts are always great…maybe chicken tacos! Mmmm….

  15. I use my crockpot at least twice a week. I’d love to have one that I could use on the stove first. I also like the oval shape – so versatile.

  16. I would either make a roast (I’ve been craving one for days) with red potatoes and carrots, OR I would make Salsa Chicken – chicken, taco seasoning, salsa, and cream of chicken all thrown together for 4 hours on high and shredded (DELICIOUS!).

  17. I love the idea of this crockpot. I tend to shy away from crockpot recipes that require cooking before hand and dirty up all of my pots and pans!

  18. Nice give-away!
I would make a nice curry in it, Chicken Tiki Masala most likely.
Or a Beef stew. Or Chili con Carne. OMG, so much choice, where to begin? 😉

  19. I love using Crockpots! First, I’d have to make up some more apple butter. I’m almost out and have an abundance of apples. But usually in the winter, I always have a soup/chili cooking.

  20. I like to start Fall off with a big ol’ batch of Beef & Bacon Stew, Potato Soup is another good one… oh & Split Pea & Ham also!

Soups/stews are my favorite food group! 🙂

  21. I love using my slow cooker during the busy fall! Nothing is more wonderful than to come home to an awesome smelling dinner with minimal work needed! And during the summer it is so nice to not have to heat up the whole house!
