Our country is unique because it is a melting pot of different cultures and backgrounds.  So why no celebrate the new year by recognizing that we all have different histories and traditions to share with each other.  As the host of a celebration, it is easy to stick to recipes and themes that are familiar.

This year why not ask your guests to bring a bit of flavor from each of their own cultures and traditions with them.  Or if you are celebrating with your own family you can always celebrate with some culturally inspired dishes that are simple to create.

Try Greek Turkey Kabobs by cutting Jennie-O Turkey Store oven roasted turkey breast into chunks. Thread them on skewers with cucumbers, tomatoes, and Peloponnese kalamata pitted olives.

Or how about Ham Fajitas with Fruit Salsa to combine Mexican and Asian flavors.  They take less than 30 minutes to prepare.

And don’t forget about dessert.  Combine caramel with chunky CHI-CHI’s salsa to make for a uniquely different caramel apple fondue.
