This week is Breakfast for Mom week here on RMK.  Whether you want to have your own mom over for breakfast,  send the link to the recipes as a “hint” for your spouse to make along with the kids, or your an awesome spouse wanting to make a wonderful surprise breakfast – I have the recipes for you.  They are all simple to make but taste special enough to make mom feel special. First up is yummy banana bread oatmeal.

This recipe uses those overripe bananas that I find frequently in my kitchen but then it is topped with ripe bananas to ramp up the banana flavor.  It is also finished off with cinnamon and brown sugar along with walnuts (which are completely optional).  I love walnuts in banana bread, so I had to include them in this oatmeal!  I made this banana bread oatmeal with regular oats, but you can use quick oats if you prefer.  Just be sure to check out the note in the recipe on how to adapt for the quick variety.

  2. I made this for breakfast and it is delicious! It smells and tastes just like banana bread and it’s wonderful. It was easy to make, too. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

  3. I have a recipe for a Baked Banana Bread Oatmeal that we absolutely love. It tastes like banana bread and an oatmeal cookie combined. I like that this version is made quickly on the stove top.

    1. Made this today finally and it was awesome! I didn’t make the full batch, as I’m the only oatmeal eater in my family, so I just divided everything by 4 and made it like that. Super delish! Even my 3 year old wanted to eat it after she smelled it cooking!
