Usually, I prefer my hot dogs grilled. However, no grill is needed with these baked chili cheese dogs. It’s a great option for when it’s too cold to grill.
All you need is 4 ingredients – hot dog buns, hot dogs, chili, and shredded cheese. I used canned chili to make life easy but feel free to use your favorite chili or it’s a great use for leftover chili. These are even better when you can use homemade chili to make them!
All you need to do is assemble the chili dogs first. Place the beef frank in the buns and place them in a baking dish. Next, you are going to spoon some chili over each hot dog. Then, you sprinkle the shredded cheese over the hot dog. Last, I spray a piece of foil with non-stick spray and place it over the baking dish. The spray prevents the cheese from sticking to the foil as it melts.
Bake these babies in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. These baked chili cheese dogs come out nice and hot with melty cheese. They also have a little crispness to the bun, which I love.
