Today I am sharing a Kodiak Cakes review and giveaway!
Do you know the difference between a flapjack and a pancake? Years ago flapjack were a wholesome staple for frontiersman. These mountainmen and homesteaders not only loved the taste of them but they generated the energy they needed. These flapjacks were a great source of carbohydrates, protein and fiber with very little fat. Since then, what people have known as the flapjack has slowly disappeared.

Kodiak Cakes is restoring the flapjack tradition with their ready to use flapjack and waffle mix. They make this hearty mix with 100% whole grains and all you need to do is add to make them is water! This is a great breakfast to fix the kids in the morning before they head out for a day at school.

I recently sampled Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk & Honey mix along with their Whole Wheat, Oat, and Honey mix. I tried using the mix as flapjacks and waffles. We loved them both. I just happen to buy a raspberry syrup from Costco that is from their company. So I served it along with flapjacks and waffles.
When I first made the waffles I didn’t follow the instructions exactly on the box.
It said to lightly oil your waffle maker. I haven’t ever oil my waffle maker before for any waffle so I didn’t do it this time. This was not a good choice. The waffle stuck to my maker. With my second attempt I did with oiling my waffle maker. I just brushed a little canola oil on the maker and they worked like a charm. So follow the directions on the box!

We loved the taste of both mixes as pancakes and waffles. We also love the raspberry syrup. I love that everyone felt full when leaving the table. I also liked knowing that their bellies were full with a nutritional breakfast.
Kodiak Cakes is giving 5 lucky readers a chance to sample their product for free. See the rafflecopter widget below to enter.
