Spring Gathering Giveaway

The last giveaway I have for you for this week comes from Bush’s Beans. I love Bush’s Beans and am privileged to be part of Team Bean this year. They have provided a fun Spring Gathering prize pack to give to one lucky reader.  The prize pack includes:

  • Coupons for free cans of Bush’s Beans
  • Bush’s Beans strainer
  • Spring dishtowels
  • Bright spring colored mini prep bowls
  • Citrus three-part server with tray
  • Spring napkins

This prize pack will help create Spring memories with friends and family with whatever gathering you may be having.  I think it looks so fun!

Cowboy Beans or Baked Beans has to be a spring/summer favorite at our house. We always have them handy for BBQs or picnics!

here is my recipie
2 cans of bush,s beans
2 cups fresh green beans(1-inch pies0blanced
2 cups chopped plum tomatoes
1/2 cup of dressing of your choice
2 tbs grated cheese (your favorite)
Combine beans,tomatoes and dressing,cover
refridgerate at least 1hour
sprinkle with cheese just before serving
makes 6 cups,1cup each

My family loves to make Fiesta Dip. It is a cold dip served with corn chips. Ingredients include canned black beans, fresh corn kernels, cilantro, lime juice, onion, and fresh tomato.

We don’t own a food processor so I’ve devised a way to make delicious hummus in the blender. A little olive oil, garbanzo beans, garlic powder, some lemon juice and since I’ve never been able to find tahini paste, I use peanut butter. It tastes the same and oh so good with cucumbers.

In the Spring I am still really big on soups because I know that summer is just around the corner and it will be too hot. So we like to make Taco soup – a lot!

My fav. spring recipe using beans is a pasta salad using white beans, olives, bell pepper, purple onion all tossed with an Italian dressing. Fast and easy not to mention really good. Can be eaten warm or cold. Yum.

My favorite recipe for beans is “Salt and Pepper Chickpeas.” You bake the drained chickpeas that have been tossed in a bit of canola oil and then sprinkled with salt and pepper. They come out a bit crunchy and a bit soft. I substitute these “baked beans” for potato chips – my husband and 3 year old boy love them too!

Refried beans without the “refry”! They’re great on taco salad, as a chip dip, as a side dish for yummy Mexican food, or just to eat straight out of the crock pot! AMAZING!!!

I was just introduced to this recipe last year, and it’s crazy good and crazy easy! All you do is chop up three or four spicy italian sausages, and add them to a gigantic can of Bush’s baked beans. Put them in a grill-able container and leave it on the grill while you do the rest of the meal, then eat. It’s super yummy!

I love making Chicken Chili! It is not a super hot dish, but the beans in it give it really nice feel. It is healthy, good for you, and not hard to throw together.
