I love ham for the holidays and a spiral sliced ham is the perfect centerpiece for any upcoming holiday gathering. Smithfield Holiday Spiral Sliced Hams are hickory-smoked and glazed, to create the perfect balance of sweet and savory that all your guests will love. It is pre-sliced and simple to prepare, making holiday entertaining stress-free. Who couldn’t use that?
The hams come in 3 varieties –
I recently tried Smithfield’s Spiral Caramel Apple Ham and it was very easy to make.
I just remove it from the packaging and wrapped it in foil with the juices and all. Then I placed it in my roasting pan and baked it at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes per pound.
After cooking it, I let it rest for 5 minutes. I set the glaze packet in the microwave for 20 seconds and I was ready to glaze the ham. I poured the glaze over the ham and let it sit for another 5 minutes. Then it was ready to serve.
The ham is moist and juicy. The caramel apple glaze is a great compliment to the flavor of the ham. I do think that next tim.e I will place my ham back in the oven after I pour the glaze over it. I like it to get a little crispy and caramelized. I think it intensifies the glaze flavor even more.
To help kick-off the holidays season, Smithfield Holiday Spiral Sliced Hams is giving one away to one lucky RMK reader. The winner will get the caramel apple version that I tried.
