Johnsonville Grillin' Giveaway

by Laura

Now that summer is getting into full swing, Johnsonville has  a brand-new contest they’ve just launched and they have provided me with a giveaway for my readers too.
The Johnsonville “Hot Story of the Week” contest features a new, unique question each week (now, through August 15, 2011), where folks can share their “grilling tales,” along with photos and videos.  Weekly contest questions will explore topics like grilling in movies, family reunions, road trips and celebrating America.  For example, one week the question was, “It’s family reunion time.  What’s the largest quantity of meat you’ve ever grilled?  95 brats?  50 shish kabobs?  You tell us!”

Each week, you can submit your entry (you can enter as many times as you’d like!), for a chance to win a weekly prize.  At the end of the summer, a grand prize winner will be selected via online voting from the public.  The “Hot Story of the Week” grand prize winner will receive a year’s supply of Johnsonville Brats, a gas grill and $5,000 in cash!

Johnsonville® Brat Hot Tub

Now for RMK readers, they have given me 3 prizes to giveaway!
1. First prize is a tabletop gas grill, along with three coupons for FREE Brats and three coupons for FREE Italian Sausage. The grill is a black 14 1/2″ tabletop gas grill with an easy-to-operate gas valve, chrome-plated removable cooking grid, cool-touch handle for cool removal of lid, 9000 BTU burner with regulator filter. Unique Vortex lid creates convection air movement for complete grilling ease. Propane not included. Heat resistant decal applied to cover.
2. Second prize is three coupons for FREE Brats and three coupons for FREE Italian Sausage.
3. Third prize is one coupon for FREE Brats and one coupon for FREE Italian Sausage.

To enter to win one of the RMK prizes, leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite way to serve up brats or Italian sausage.  Last year I made these brat kabobs and it is now my favorite way to grill up brats.  You have until Tuesday June 28th at 10 pm (MST) to enter.

My favorite way for Brats is simply grilling them till the skins is nice and toasty….and serving it with carmelized onions slathered all over…YUM!!!

We don’t eat brats or Italian sausages very often–sad I know!! When we do have them, we cook them on the grill and eat them in buns. I actually bookmarked your Brat Kebabs post and am planning to make it some time this summer. Thanks!

Grilled and served on a bun is our favorite; however, mixed into mountain man breakfast or sliced into a pasta dish is very good, too.

There are so many different ways to use the Italian Sausage, but the only way I eat the Brats are grilled, on a bun, with sauteed onions and peppers.

Grilled with peppers and onions. Or ketchup and mustard. Or, if you’re feeling a little crazy, with some curry ketchup.

My husband loves these Johnsonville sausages and brats and we like them in everything… and I mean EVERYTHING! Omelets, with rice, in baked beans… you name it! If there’s a way to eat it or a meal that needs a little something extra, my husband is all over it! I think my favorite is in an omelet, though.

I like to braise brats in a braising liquid of chopped onions, a little garlic and beer and then finish the brats on a grill to give them a nice color, serve them on a bun with some grilled onions and lots of mustard. Thanks for the great summer giveaway.
