Ham and Cheese Pannini

  • 1/8 cup honey Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 cup mayo
  • 8 slices of rustic white bread or loaf of bread cut in half lengthwise and cut into 4 sections
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or munster cheese
  • 1/2 lb deli ham (I like Black Forest)
  • olive oil for grilling


  1. Preheat pannini grill.
  2. In a bowl, mix mayo and mustard together.
  3. Spread 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard mixture on one side of a slice of bread. Top 4 of the pieces of bread, mustard side up with a slice of cheese, ham, and another slice of cheese. Top each sandwich with a second slice of bread, mustard side down on top of cheese to form a sandwich.
  4. Brush top and bottom of each sandwich with olive oil. Place in a panini grill and press until bread is crisp and brown, and cheese has melted slightly, 9 to 10 minutes. Makes 4 sandwiches.
