Bake for the Cure and a Giveaway

by Laura

For the next few weeks, I will be posting 2 recipes that are specifically part of ACH product’s Bake for the Cure as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Three recipes will be mine by utilizing the ACH products.  The other three will be from the Bake for the Cure cookbook which is available to purchase for $2.  I know several individuals who have been affected by this disease.  So Laurie, Dana, and Becky this is for you along with my mother-in-law’s dear friend Jocelyn who lost her battle.  All of these women inspire me and no one should have to go through what they have endured, but I know others will until there is a cure.  So I am helping out by baking for a cure.

You will have several chances to enter to win a fabulous pink-themed baking kit (pink utensils, bowls, etc), a Bake for the Cure cookbook, along with some ACH products.  The  package is valued at $50. You will be able to leave a comment on each recipe I post as part of the Bake for the Cure allowing you to enter multiple times.  I will update the links to each post in this post as I get them up.  The blogger with the most comments also will get a prize so make sure to come back and leave a comment on each post.
To enter the contest, leave a comment on each of the following posts about what you would make with the baking kit if you were the winner!  I will update the post to comment on in this list as they go up.  You have until Oct. 20 at 10 pm MST to enter.  Remember you are allowed one entry per post.
Zucchini Blueberry Muffins
Mini Peach Streusel Coffeecakes
Night Owl S’mores Treat
Halloween Popcorn Bars
Everything Bread
Cran-Apple Granola Pizza

Disclosure:  I received the Baking for the Cure cookbook, product and a gift card for supplies to make the recipes as part of my participation in Baking for the Cure.

I would make my mom some gingerbread, it is her favorite. She is a breast cancer survivor and she deserves some favorites.

Last year I started paticipating in Relay for Life. It is a cause I am most compassionate about. My mother was diagnosed with leukemia 10 yrs ago, a close family friend and my boss are both survivors of breast cancer. I host fundraisers throughout the year for Relay and show my support to those I love and to others whose life is affected by cancer. I would use the kit to bake up some goodies for my many bake sales.

I’m a cancer nurse. It would be wonderful if I had to look for another job since there was no more cancer. Thanks for doing this.
I try to make my patients cookies once or twice a week. That’s what I’d do with the kit.

What a great giveaway! Not sure if we are supposed to comment on this post as well, but there are lots of things I would love to make with the prize, so why not?! I recently moved to New York, and my boyfriend is still in California, so I would love to make him some mini, heart-shaped cakes (if only they would ship well!). They could be pink as well, for breast cancer awareness!

My daughter is the budding baker in my household(She’s 17). I’d give her first crack at what to bake. Although with her dad’s and my birthday coming up I’m betting cakes would be the first thing made with the set.

I would make oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut butter cookies to send in our bag lunches that my sunday school class take to feed the homeless in Louisville, KY. They love the special treat and it warms my heart to be part of it. Cookies would be even sweeter stirred up in a nice new pink bowl!
