ActiFry® Giveaway

Today, I have an ActiFry® giveaway to one lucky RMK reader.  The ActiFry® from T-fal  is a low fat multi-cooker and can be used as a healthy alternative to the traditional deep fryer.  It features a removable ceramic-coated, non-stick pan (that is PTFE and PFOA free), a transparent steam-free lid, pulsating heat technology and an automatic stirring paddle which ensures even distribution of oil in each meal prepared.  Most things can be prepared in the Actifry with 1 tablespoon of oil.

About the ActiFry®

I was also sent an ActiFry® to try out.  It comes with a booklet that includes recipes to make in the ActiFry® .  I decided to test out some fries in mine, but it can also be used to make other things including meats, fish, vegetables, and even desserts.  The recipe I used was similar to one I make in my oven but my recipe uses double the oil that you use in the Actifry®.

I made the potato wedges with herbs and spices from their booklet.  The recipe said to use Yukon gold potatoes, but I used regular russets.  The results with the Actifry® were similar to what I received in the oven but required less oil.  The cooking time did take longer, but I didn’t need to use my oven to do it.  The Actifry® is perfect for summer cooking because I can have fries without having to turn my oven on which just makes my house hot.  The other thing I noticed with the fries cooked in the Actifry® is they were light and fluffy on the inside.

The booklet said you can use frozen fries in it also.

I plan on trying that next.  If you use frozen fries you don’t at ANY oil.  That is right, they cook with NO oil.  The other recipe I want to try is chicken wings.  You can cook fresh chicken wings in the Actifry®.  You can even add sauce to the wings during the last 3 minutes of cooking.

The Actifry® is much easier to clean up that a deep fryer or a pan on my stove top that was full of oil.  The removable pan, lid, paddle spoon and filter can be easily disassembled and put into the dishwasher.  I just washed mine by hand and it was done in no time.  The rest of the machine can be easily wiped clean with a wet cloth or soft sponge.

To enter to win the Actifry®

Leave a comment about what you would try to make first in the Actifry®.  If you need ideas, you can check out their recipes.  You have until Tuesday May 29th at midnight (MST) to enter.

Disclosure: This a sponsored post and I received compensation to write this post.  However, my opinions are my own.

There are only two of us left at home to cook for, and I’m desperately trying to learn how to cook without turning on the oven (costs too much to run for just a small amount). This looks like the perfect answer. We are trying to eat healthier, also, due to cholesterol problems and metabollic syndrome. I would first try my Parmesan chicken strips. Thanks!
